My creative journey kicked off in early 2018 with pour painting. At first, I was just sharing pieces I thought looked cool with friends on Facebook, no grand plans, just experimenting and vibing. Over time, I noticed people genuinely connecting with what I was making. That spark led me to build an online identity where I could share more of my art and evolution. That's when @the.heavy.metal.hippy was born.I wanted a logo that would speak to my story, something that captured the experiences, resilience, and raw emotion behind why I started crafting in the first place. That's where Thomas McKinney came in. He's a wildly talented local artist (and the mind behind the visuals for Survived By No One). The hourglass reminds me of how fragile time is, how quickly life shifts, how unknowable our final grain of sand truly is. Encased in the Gemini glyph ♊, the hourglass speaks to my sign and my duality. Peach and teal sands flow through its center, carrying the weight of gynecological cancers and my personal journey with endometrial cancer. Conjoined twins stand as a haunting reflection of both my Gemini nature and the reality of infertility.
